Glad that Mrs Budgett is to be Treasurer. Miss Forsaith too ill to go to Neuchatel, but she has written two excellent papers. Still weak but will try to do something later in the way of an appeal to younger people. She could write to her cousin Sir Edward 'who has always been right about the CD Acts.

'Sir H Campbell-Bannerman will be none the wiser of having his elbow jogged. He will have a very mixed 'pack' to lead of extreme Irish men and Radicals and half and half men'

To the modern his Cabinet contains more men who later made their name known, than any other, such HH Asquith, Sir Edward Grey, RB Haldane, John Morley, James Bryce, D Lloyd George and John Burns
