Says he has had a letter from 'Tell' [T Meuricoffre, a Swiss banker living at Naples and married to Hatty (JB's sister) giving an interesting description of the eruption of Vesuvius 'one of the greatest that there has ever been'. Speaks of being at 'Spencer's tomorrow at 5.30. Dinner at 7. [Spencer (1828-1915) was his brother.]
