Josephine Butler to Miss Anne Clough

Scope and Content

About the wording of an Appeal for funds for the Education of Girls through the North of England Council for promoting the Higher Education of Women, which Miss Clough has written. Both George (her husband) and Miss Wolstenholme agree with her that the Appeal is too dry and needs 'a few touches of feeling'. Will Miss C. therefore allow her to re-write the paper.

She is leaving England the following Saturday and her address for Aug will be at her sister's home at Geneva.
