Manuscript copy of letter. Written from Boulogne (19 Dec) and Grosvenor Hotel, Victoria (20 Dec). Thankful to be bringing her dear husband home alive. 'Through the generosity of kind Emily Ford and friends who have helped her to help us we have also been able to travel home in the depth of winter without risk'. She thinks the next meeting of the LNA they might like to hear some extracts from this letter giving an account of some of the work she was able to do the last month in Switzerland in the Canton de Vaud.

This was the Butlers 1st grandchild born on 23 Sep to Rhoda (nee Bolton) who married Stanley the 2nd son 9 Feb 1886. (See letter of 4 Feb 1886 from JB just before departing for the Continent).
