Josephine Butler to Stanley Butler

Scope and Content

Photocopy of letter. Written from [Cheltenham]

Excited to hear about his proposed lectures to grown ups, old military men, etc. She is doing her best to keep up her spirits. She has just heard that President Roosevelt has been reading her book 'Personal reminiscences of a great crusade' 1896.(lent to him by the man who has written her about it) ',,,he approves of it heartily and says he is wholly of our views'. The writer says: 'President Roosevelt is a volcanic man for righteousness. You would like him'.
