Administrative / Biographical History

'have had very bad headaches since I came back from my last Tour'. Her previous letter to Mrs Ford 8 Oct [1876] says 'I have been on the Continent 3 months working hard and have been only a fortnight at home'. 'Very many thanks for your kindness in labouring to get money for the Vigilance Asson' Mrs Ford was very interested in the Society and very generous in giving and raising money for it. JB always retained her interest in this work that she had begun when she first came to Liverpool in 1866 and Mrs Ford often sent her money for special cases she was interested in. See Note on 'I often don't know where to turn for funds' in letter of 8 Oct [1876]. Biog: Mrs Ford.
