Written from 63 Upper Tulse Hill, London SW. Says that since repeal of the CD Acts women have been treated at the Workhouse. The former Lock Hospital at Aldershot is to be refurnished and a new staff of officials put into it to work it as a Voluntary Hospital. (Press cutting asking for tenders enclosed). If Mr Wilson wants more information he can write to Mr Robertson of the Local Government Board, Aldershot, giving Gledstone's name.

Administrative / Biographical History
JP Gledstone was deeply concerned with provision of hospitals for those who formerly came under the compulsory treatment under the CD Acts. He realised the importance of this work more than most of the Repealers. See also letter of JP Gledstone to HJ Wilson of 5 Apr 1887 suggesting a meeting of them with Stansfeld, Crossley and Stuart 'for a talk on the question of treatment of VD.' Biog: Rev JP Gledstone.
