Josephine Butler to Mr Thorp

Scope and Content

Written from Galewood, Wooler, Northumberland

Thinks, on the whole, with many thanks for his kind sympathy in the matter, that she will take back her letter, remodel it and send it to one of the quarters where such an appeal is desired. She is thankful to hear from him that the distress is not so great as the papers represent it to be. She thinks however that there it is more general than formerly as many of her agricultural friends are suffering.
