Scope and Content

Written from Castle Hill, Rotherfield, Sussex

Asking him to advise on length of speeches 'If I am to preside over the Conference'. This was the International Conference at Brussels held on 15-17 Jul 1897. Speeches were not to be more that a quarter of an hour at the opening, and an evening speech was to be more discursive and take 30 to 40 minutes. His views on checking public solicitation are in accord with his friend's.
