'Enclosed PO Order £2.2 ... from Newcastle Ladies' Association towards the new Federation Fun'
Ever since JB's campaign on the Continent the winter of 1874/1875 that led finally to the setting up of the British and Continental Federation (19 Mar 1875), JB had been appealing for funds from the British central and provincial societies, which support the Cause. She felt that the new organisation should be helped for, say 3 years, before it was strong enough to support itself
