Photocopy letter. Written from Balham. Actually dated 29 Feb 1895; 29 Feb denotes a leap year but 1895 was not a leap year. Letter dated 20 Feb 1895 refers to severe winter. Also Josephine Butler was abroad from Jan to Mar in 1896.
Hopes there will be less snow than in Balham. She has had a long and cheerful letter from Thekla [Hatty Meuricoffre's only daughter] who has just had her 4th child (a boy) 'Hedwig [her eldest] is especially delighted with the live dolly'. Josephine Butler feels terribly cold at night and 'can't get warm anyhow'.
