Scope and Content

Written from Bundi, Rajputana.

Explains that in Rajputana they are at the start of a famine. Before there was any thought of this the Viceroy had arranged to tour through Rajputana in Nov. It is easy to calculate the great sums spent each day along his path. A number of political officers are against this visit. He feels that a strong letter in the 'Times' would strengthen the hands of those who have the interest of Britain and India at heart. Will he do this for poor humanity. He does not want his name made known.
