Scope and Content

Written from St Andrews. No year but refers to escaping the winter. Also Josephine was staying in Montreux in letter dated 9 Dec 1895

'my dear George is not well. It seems he is still unfit for his office work'

George (her son) was thrown when riding and suffered serious head injuries at the end of Apr 1894. He returned to his work (Civil Service Commissioners) but found himself unable to work and had to resign (1 Jan 1896).

She is returning to Wimbledon to advise and consult with George and Mia. Sorry she will not be able to see her friend and sisters but hopes to return in the spring.

'I hope to have strength to go on with my book on our Cause'

This was 'Personal Reminiscences of a great Crusade' published in 1896.

'Have you got the 'Dawn'? The last issue of the 'Dawn' was published in Oct 1895 and gives an account of the Conference at Colmar in Sep.
