Scope and Content

Manuscript notes on Cambridge colleges, 293 pages, dated 30 January 1824, followed by an index. At the end of the volume are family trees and genealogical notes relating to the Thomas family.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Thomas was born on 20 October 1788, the son of the Revd William Thomas (1767-1827) and his wife Mary, ne Greenwood (1765-1827). He married Sarah Strange (1802-1890) on 22 June 1830. The couple lived in Enfield, Middlesex, and had eight children. Thomas died on 22 November 1863.

Custodial History

A note at the front of the book records that it was given to Edith Emily Adelaide Thomas of Ilford, Essex, in 1911 by her grandfather William Thomas of Harlesden (1834-1917), who was the son of the author.
