Scope and Content

The Rev. Francis Wrangham, clerk, M.A., prebendary of the prebend of Ampleforth, of the first part; John Greame of Sewerby House, esq., the Rev. Orseur William Kilvington, vicar of Brignall, and now living at Hatfield, George Lloyd of Stockton House, esq., and Joyce Gold of Heslington, esq., (the devisees in trust named in the will of Henry Yarburgh, late of Heslington, esq., deceased), of the second part; William Mills, John Robert Mills and Joshua Mills, all of York, gents., of the third part. The manor of Heslington; all the lands in Heslington, Dunnington and Fulford belonging to the prebend of Ampleforth; except the royalties with a mansion house in York, and spiritual jurisdiction belonging to the said prebend, with all the wood growing on the premises and egress and regress to and for Francis Wrangham to fell the wood; also except 4 closes called Long Flatts, containing 28 acres 2 roods; a piece of ground called the Little Field and 3 pieces of ground called Barn Fields, containing 21 acres 2 roods 4 poles; a piece of ground now used as a road, containing 2 roods 26 poles; all in the occupation of Thomas Appleby; 4 closes called Butt Close, Ings Close and Pasture Closes, containing 22 acres 3 roods 35 poles; 4 closes called New Fields, containing 23 acres 19 poles, now in the occupation of Henry Warneford: a close called Common Close containing 4 acres 37 poles, late in the occupation of William Prest; 4 closes called Intacks, containing 12 acres, now in the occupation of William Thompson, Frances Elleker and Robert Elleker; all of which lands are in Dunnington and are part of the prebend of Ampleforth.
During the lives of the Right Hon. William Wickham, now living in Geneva, Switzerland, the Rev. Lamplugh Hird, now living in York, clerk, and Francis Penty of Heslington, son of Robert Penty, late of Heslington, farmer, deceased.
