Richard Hobson of Fulford Grange, Gate Fulford, esq., of the first part; Robert Knowsley of Garton, esq., of the second part; William Leaf of Gate Fulford, butcher, of the third part; Joseph Leaf of York, butcher, a trustee nominated by and for the said William Leaf, of the fourth part.
A close of ground formerly enclosed from the common at Fulford containing 3 acres 3 roods, formerly in the occupation of John Smith, afterwards in that of Thomas Hessle, since in that of Francis Scowby, and is now in the possession of William Leaf; which close was allotted to Parker Duffield in right of a messuage by the Commissioners for the Enclosure of Fulford, and was purchased by Richard Hobson from Edward Briggs, gent.; except for a right of way across the west end of the close for the owners and occupiers of the lands lying on the south and west sides of the close.
To such uses as William Leaf shall appoint by deed or writing, and in default of, or until such appointment, to the use of William Leaf and his assigns during his natural life, without impeachment of waste; and from and after the determination of that estate by any means in his lifetime, to the use of Joseph Leaf and his heirs for the natural life of William Leaf, in trust nevertheless for William Leaf and his assigns; and, subject to the uses and trusts hereinbefore limited, to the use of William Leaf, his heirs and assigns, for ever.
