Scope and Content

Alicia Maria Lloyd as devisee in tail general under the will of Charles Yarburgh.
Two customary or copyhold cottages with the orchard and garth called Ricker or Riccard garth, adjoining a close belonging to Charles Yarburgh to the west, the road to Gowdall to the north, and a common lane to the east and south, previously in the tenure or occupation of John Latham, with the other customary or copyhold tenancies of Jonathan Dixon, Wilfred Bell, and Frances his wife within the manor, situated at the west end of Snaith, and in the occupations of Henry Hutchinson, Sarah Wood, and David Holmes; orchard or garth called Ricker or Rickard garth or Flints orchard thereto adjoining with the buildings thereon, now in the occupation of William Umpleby, the sites of them all containing 3 roods 34 poles, being bounded by a road or lane to the east and south, by property lately belonging to Nicholas Edmund Yarburgh to the west, and by the Wakefield, Pontefract, and Goole Railway to the north; allotment or parcel of land on Snaith marsh containing 2 acres 2 roods 9 poles, on the south side of a close of land containing altogether 12 acres 2 roods 38 poles, now in the occupation of William Umpleby, bounded to the east by the high road, by other lands lately belonging to N.E. Yarburgh to the west, by the remainder of the close to the north, and by the lands of John Lawrence to the south.
The lands had been surrendered to Charles Yarburgh and the uses of his will by Dixon, Bell, and his wife on 17 June 1782, on which date Charles Yarburgh had been admitted tenant. N.E. Yarburgh had been admitted tenant at a court held on 1 November 1811. Yarburgh Yarburgh had been admitted tenant at a court held on 20 October 1852.
Fine of £20. 5s. 0d. (entered in pencil, with a note of its being only half the amount due, on condition that George John Lloyd is admitted at the next court and pays the full fine)
