Scope and Content

Admission of Rev. Josiah Crofts of York, clerk, following surrender made out of court on 24 May 1854 by William Haw of Heslington, farmer, as a mortgage.
Parcel of arable called a Bott land, containing 1 rood, in the Low Field of Heslington.
Another arable Bott Land in the same field, containing ½ roods.
£60, repayable with interest at 5% on 24 November next. If unpaid, property to be sold by auction or private sale, receipts to be used to pay charges of present transaction, then for charges of sales and mortgage, then for repayment of £60 with interest, any surplus thereafter to go to Haw.
Fine of £6.
