This sub-class consists of a series of papers originally stored in a buff folder labelled "Lists". Much of this material relates to the archive RD left behind. It seems that in the 1950s he devoted some time to organising and listing the documents he had accumulated during his life. Much of the material now forms part of this archive; other items have been sold and dispersed. These lists are valuable in providing information on the way RD originally kept his records in his own office. By the time the papers reached the John Rylands Library, many of them had been rearranged, and it is impossible to reconstruct precisely RD's original order simply from the brief file titles supplied in his lists. It seems that he may also have experimented with different arrangements at different times; for instance, one list of cuttings books orders the volumes chronologically and another groups them into different subject categories.
The contents of the file include: an address book and lists of contact details for friends, family and professional contacts (/1, /20-21 and /23-6); lists of RD's files, cuttings books, and the contents of various cabinets in his office (/3, /5-6 and /9-16); lists of pictures, photographs and Henry Irving memorabilia owned by RD (/2 and /4); lists of Christmas cards sent and received in 1956 (/7-8); contact details for members of various film units, namely 20th-Century Fox personnel in England (/17), The Inn of the Sixth Happiness (/18), The Cure for Love (/19), and The Magic Box (/22).
