London theatre programmes

Scope and Content

This sub-class consists of programmes and flyers for London productions in which RD had some involvement. These range from his very first London role in Knave and Quean at the Ambassadors Theatre in 1930, to his final stage role in Eliot's Murder in the Cathedral at the Old Vic in 1953. A number of his small stage parts in the early 1930s are represented, as are his own later successful productions, notably those staged at the Westminster Theatre under his management during 1943-1946.
