Includes: correspondence between Hodson, Gregson and RD relating to the adaptation of the novel and the positive response to the broadcasts; correspondence with Christopher Mann Ltd relating to RD's contract, expenses and payments for his part in the play; correspondence with the BBC regarding the possibility of a wider broadcast of the play, and a condensed version for the Light Programme; some notes; annotated scripts for Parts I-III of the novel as broadcast on the North of England Home Service in December 1946; and two copies of a condensed version of Part I to be recorded in London on 1 February 1947.
