Commercially released record entitled Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats: Six poems by T.S. Eliot, an entertainment for speaker and orchestra. Spoken by RD; musical setting by Alan Rawsthorne; performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra (Columbia/EMI Records, 1044). Commissioned by the Edinburgh Festival Society for performance at the 1954 Festival. Contents are as follows: Side 1: 'Overture'; 'The Naming of Cats'; 'The Old Gumbie Cat'. Side 2: 'Gus, the Theatre Cat'; 'Bustopher Jones: the Cat about Town'; 'Old Deuteronomy'; 'The Song of the Jellicles'. Sleeve notes by Alan Rawsthorne.
