Scope and Content

Architectural plans relating to two different proposals for the conversion of a barn into a home, 'Bramblebury', at Dunsmore, Wendover, Buckinghamshire. Based on the existing structure of RD's home, Brambleberry, these plans show two different schemes for extensively remodelling the house. They are as follows:

  • /1-8 A series of original pencil plans and elevations on tracing paper. /1-7 are unattributed; /8 is a more formal plan by C. Cowles-Voysey, which differs slightly from the others (Jul 1939 and n.d.)
  • /9 More formal plan on tracing paper, showing elevations of the planned house (Mar 1939).
  • /10-13 Series of dyeline elevations and plans on thicker paper, headed 'Plans for Reconstruction of "Bramblebury" for Robert Donat Esq. by Frank Wells'. Therer are two versions of sheet 1 (1939).
