This class consists of a series of alphabetical correspondence files. They contain accounts and correspondence between John Donat and others relating to the executorship of RD's estate, and include: papers relating to funeral expenses and the memorial service; the settlement of RD's financial affairs; the storage and disposal of RD's goods; RD's poetry recordings and various posthumous broadcasts; his final film The Inn of the Sixth Happiness; and the first biography of RD by John Trewin. The majority of the papers date from 1958-1965; there are only two pieces from a later date and a small quantity of material generated by RD himself during his lifetime, such as medical bills accrued during the last months of his life. These alphabetical files were superseded by a general chronological sequence of files (listed in FRD2/2).

Original order has been retained throughout and each piece given a running number.
