This subseries comprises a black folder containing fastened research notes relating specifically to the Isle of Man. Once again we do not know when they were written, although it is possible that Blundell compiled them after his retirement from Martin's Bank in 1962, after which he moved to the Isle of Man with his wife, where many of his later detective stories were set. The file contains research notes on traditional Manx music, the islanders themselves, the geography, history and culture of the island, Manx names, the local economy, smuggling and other topics. There are also two loose sheets in the back of the file.
Scope and Content
The pages have been retained within the file itself to reflect the way the file was arranged by the creator. This subseries has been placed after 'Historical Research' (BLU/4/1) because of the more specific, regional nature of the material contained within.
