Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Computer Art Society (CAS) was founded in 1968 by Alan Sutcliffe, George Mallen, and John Lansdown, with the aim to encourage the creative use of computers in the arts. The Computer Arts Society promotes the creative use of computers in the arts and culture generally. It is a community of interest for all involved in doing, managing, interpreting and understanding information technology's cultural potential. It is an international society, working at the forefront of its field.
