Bound volume of scores, 1-4, 6 and 7 are autograph manuscripts, 5 is non-autograph manuscript with some autograph annotations [39pp].

Inscription on the front of the bound volume reads RMJ.

Notes on the inside covering page of the volume in Imogen Holst's hand read:

'For Uncle Ralph, with a great deal of love and endless gratitude from Imogen, October 9th 1957.' and;

'Note: My father gave this MS score to Mabel Rodwell Jones after it had been published. (He aske Novello's to bind it with her initials on the cover.) She gave it to me after my father's death. I gave it to Vaughan Williams (long after MRJ's death) for his 85th birthday. After his death, Ursula Vaughan Williams gave it back to me. (IH, 1982).
