Irish House of Commons: List of Members

Scope and Content

Lists of members of the Irish House of Commons supplied to the General Post Office, Dublin, with a view to the free delivery of post, 29 May 1790, 36 folios. The list is arranged in alphabetical order (fo. 4), and in similar order of places represented (fo. 28). On fo. 35 is a list of double returns. On fos 1v and 2 are pasted printed letters from John Lees, secretary of the General Post Office, Dublin, to all (Irish) postmasters, dated 8 and 13 April 1790 respectively. On blank leaves and portions of leaves are a rough statement of accounts (fo. 2); drafts of letters from [ ] to Charles Sharpey, 29 March 1843 (fo. 2v), to Thomas Whitfield, March 1843 (fo. 2v), and to Bryan Cogan, 30 March 1843 (fo. 3); a list of books (fo. 4v); accounts of the Drogheda Railway, 1845-1846 (fos 6v and 7); accounts of the Hibernian Bank, 1845-1851 (fos 7v-8v and 34v-35v); accounts of the Royal Bank, 1850-1851 (fos 11v and 12); lists of prices of stock, 1841-1847 (fos 26v and 27); a statement of receipts, 1843-1849 (fo. 27v); and a further list of books, April 1843 (fo. 36). All of these insertions are in the same hand. On fo. 36 is rough list of accounts in another hand. There is also a nineteenth-century entry on fo. 30, 'Margaret Hetharige', and scribblings.
