Scope and Content

Thanks Jones for invitation to visit Cambridge. Lanchester explains what he understands by the Perry system of units, and asks Jones who uses the system in his Department, to consider carefully what he is doing; he asks him to read argument in “Theory of Dimensions” and in the discussion of a paper given by Lanchester to the Institution of Automobile Engineers (“Treatment of Problems in Dimensional Theory”, Session 1936-37. Vol. 31. pp. 545-571 - and discussion, pp. 572-592) before Lanchester comes to see him.
