Copy typewritten letter from Frederick Lanchester to [J.D. Griffith-Davies], Assistant Secretary, Royal Society

Scope and Content

Reply to LAN/1/12/111. Regarding biographical questionnaire and the publication of his work “The Musical Scale”. Lanchester says his only “claim to lasting fame” is “Aerial Flight” (1907) which was accepted by Lord Rayleigh and Carl Runge, but sneered at by “Glazebrook and his crew at the N.P.L [National Physical Laboratory]”.
