Duplicated letter from Frederick Lanchester to Rt. Hon. Winston Churchill, Prime Minister

Scope and Content

This letter is headed “Dakar” and was apparently provoked by the failure of [General Charles] De Gaulle to seize Dakar (in French West Africa) with British naval support. Lanchester wants more urgent action the war and no possible “Quislings” in the Cabinet [Quisling was the leader of a puppet government set up by the Germans in Oslo].
