It was so exciting to sleep under Beaton's roof. No one else could have made Ashcombe such a fairy palace already. Cannot forget the soft winking light of those candles. What fun they had! Liked Mr Dobson's Shakespearian appearance. Charlie James' cleverness is uncanny. Is mad with joy about her dress. No wonder Beaton is tired, as this has been a year for him. He has created Ashcombe, produced a book, and had an exhibition. The "carpings and yappings" of people like Virginia Woolf will pass. Asks Beaton to come with Rex next week on the way to Ashcombe. He must not altogether pass this house by now that he has his own palace.
Autograph letter signed to Beaton.
