Scope and Content

To Arnold Bennett from G[eorge] H[erbert] Mair [Manchester Guardian journalist]. He is enclosing a proof of some piece he wrote about his play; he refers to the errors. Despite the bad notice, the play went very well. He asks if he intends to come to London soon; he would like his advice. He had hoped to go to the King's funeral. He talks about daily pressure of work; he would like to write other things, but they are currently short staffed. He has been trying to write an article for the Quarterly for six weeks, which the editor, J.C. Bailey, is now demanding.
