Scope and Content

Swatches and larger pieces of fabric used for both garments and household furnishings from India, Japan and Vietnam as well as Britain and Europe. Includes examples of embroidery, ikat, whitework, jacquard weave, tweed, in-grain carpet, tapestry and printed fabric. Companies include Munrospun and Edinburgh Weavers.

Some items are quite large and difficult to access. Prior booking for these is required. Located at the Scottish Borders campus, Galashiels.
