Administrative / Biographical History

The International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS) is an international organization of national societies whose primary object is the advancement of Operational Research. Its aims are the development of Operational Research as a unified science and its advancement in all nations of the world. IFORS was established in 1959 and its initial membership consisted of the Operations Research of America, the Operational Research Society of the United Kingdom, and The Société Francaise de Recherche Opérationnelle.
