Administrative / Biographical History
These records concern the Glynmeirch Estate, Llangyfelach, Pontardawe of Isaac and Gwenllian Jones. The estate was variously known as Clyn y Merch, Kellymerch or Clynmerch. The estate had previously been part of the Nydfwch estate and from 1759 part of the Penllergaer estate. In 1808 it came into the possession of the John (alias Jones) family. The Glynmeirch estate remained in their ownership until 1923 when the estate was sold.
