Note: Captain Vaughan and a Mr Burchinshaw

Scope and Content

NOTE: Captain Vaughan and a Mr Burchinshaw, attorney at Law went to Tryfan about 2 or 3 years after John Bulkeley's death to find out how he had conveyed his estate. Mr O. Griffith referred them to Owen Jones of Carnarvon who would show them the deeds. Mr Rowland Bulkeley and Mr John Bulkeley joined in passing a fine. John Bulkeley was equally capable of giving away his estate as he was in passing the fine which empowered R. Bulkeley to give the estate to whom he pleased after the death of J. Bulkeley which power he did not avail himself of. Consequently as J. Bulkeley outlived he had the power, and was equally capable of disposing of it by the deed he made as he was of joining in the fine.
