Chapel plate.  A Charles II silver altar candlestick.
One of a pair of candlesticks, maker`s mark DB an annulet below, London, 1683, the large square bases rising to similarly shaped flanges below fluted column stems, engraved with a presentation inscription from Georgius Wheler [George Wheler] dated 1683, also with scratch weights 23 11 and 23 7, fitted with later pricket sockets, John Swift, London, circa 1750, 10½in high, the bases 6¾in square.
