This series comprises newspaper cuttings of articles mainly by Anthony Goodman. His name has been noted in the listing when it appears in the byline, however, most of the articles attributed to Reuters were probably written by Goodman. The articles date from the periods when Goodman was reporting from Britain in the mid 1950s, Israel in the late 1950s, New York in the 1960s and early 1970s and the United Nations from the early 1970s to 1999. The articles cover a wide variety of topics including the United Nations, the Middle East, the Panama Canal dispute, the Law of the Sea Convention, events in Tehran during the US embassy hostage crisis, the defection of Arkady Shevchenko, the Iran-Contras affair, the inspection of Iraq’s weapons, the wars in the former Yugoslavia and the life of Lowell Thomas. The series also includes a complete issue of the Herald Tribune that features an article by Anthony Goodman on the front page. Further newspaper cuttings have been maintained in their original order in the archive and appear in many of the other series.
