Scope and Content

Letter sent from Hohenzollernstrasse, Berlin-Wannsee. Hausmann thanks Morse for sending chocolate and tea. He praises Morse on his translation of Rilke's 'Die Weise von Liebe und Tod des Cornets Christoph Rilke'. He was surprised to read in Morse's last letter that he had been wounded eleven times, not having taken him for the military type. He reminisces about a day in his own war service 1940-42 in France, when he brought three captured British air force personnel to the local German headquarters.
