Letters sent from Alessandro Passerin d'Entrèves et Curmayeur (1902-1985). After having obtained a doctorate in Medieval Political Thought from Oxford University in 1932, he became professor of History of Law Doctrines, History of Political Thought and Political Philosophy in Italian universities, and Professor of Italian Studies at Oxford University (1946-57). Antifascist and partisan, after the liberation of Italy he was appointed prefect of Aosta. Passerin d'Entrèves was author of several books on politics and law and wrote for the Italian newspaper La Stampa.
