Small volume containing rentals for the manor of Lawshall Hall and the manor of 'Hanningfeilds', [Suffolk]

The first leaf used has no heading but contains a list of 17 people and their rents payable. The sums range from 12s 2 1/2 d payable by William Wright to 4 1/2d due from Fraunceys Barrell.

There follows the rental for the manor of Hanningfeilds, divided into copyhold rents and freehold rents.
There are 16 persons liable for copyhold rent, for sums from 15s 4d payable by William Wright, to 3d payable by Mathew Payne. Other copyholders include John Wright, blacksmith; and Mr Smyth; other surnames are Cawston, Payne, Steward, Brooke, Bankes, Byrd and Cricke.
There are 9 persons liable for free rents, with sums ranging from 10s 10d due from Henry Reignold, to 1d due from Robert Smyth. Other freehold renters include Thomas Hamond at 'rowney'; Mr Phillip Morse; Robert Hamond at Barkers; and Edward Cricke, maltster. Other surnames are Wright, Phillipson and Eley.
The total of the copyhold and free rents payable amount to £4 9s 1 1/2d
There follows the arrears of copyhold and free rents: a list of 28 names including Frauncys Barrell who owed 4 1/2d for three years' rent; William Sparke who owed 8s for two years' rent; Anthony Steward and Widow Eley who both owed 1d for half a year's rent. Other surnames are Payne; Clarke; Scott; Crick; Hardy; Durrand; Blye; Wolfe; Lambe; Mower, Burnum; Bankes; Gille; Gardner; Cornish, Wright; Manning; Reignold.

After two blank leaves follows the rental for the manor of Lawshall Hall, divided into copyhold rents and free rents. There are 18 persons listed liable for free rents and 80 liable for copyhold rents.
Free rents range from 5s 3d due for the land late John Corder's and a similar sum from William Wright, to 1/2d due from Edward Smyth. Other free tenants include Thomas Hamond at Rowney; Robert Hamond at Psalters; Mary Hamond at Hilles; Robert Hamond at Bark. The sum of the free rents amount to £1 15s 1d.
Copyhold rents range from 14s 2d due from Thomas Stanton, to 1d due from both Anthony Steward and from Widow Eley. Other persons and places listed include Robert Hamond, glover; Robert Hamond at Barkers; Thomas Hamond at Rowney; Mrs Hamond for Bushmans; Edward Crick, maltster; John Payne for dovehouse croft; for Sturgeons motes [? moats]; for the gatehouse; John Wright at Mores; Robert Hamond at Salt.; Mary Hamond at Hilles; Thomas Goshalke; Frauncys Barrell; John Wright, blacksmith. Noted in the margins is the amount of free rent also due from the persons listed. The sum total of copy and free rents of the manor of Lawshall Hall has not been added up.
