Letter from W. D'Arcy Godolphin Osborne [William D'Arcy Godolphin Osborne] to George Maw

Scope and Content

Written from Villa Louis, Biarritz, France. Manuscript

He is sending two boxes of the hybrids from Luchon [Bagneres de Luchon, France]; the larger has 34 similar to the flowers sent previously, the smaller has one bulb of a hybrid with an orange-scarlet cup and primrose-coloured perianth; he has had a fresh supply of moschatus [Narcissus moschatus] from the Val d'Arras [France]; he has not received the hybrids with flowers, so he sends what he has; he will write about the hybrids at greater length soon, but is in trouble for losing many of his 'Pallidus Praecox' [a Narcissus variety]
