Allen [George Allen, student of Ruskin, founder of George Allen & Unwin, publishers] visited today and was very pleased with his introduction to Maw, and brought him the stones that Maw sent, for which he is grateful; the stones aid understanding of many of the phenomena, especially the layer of agate; he invites Maw to stay with him the next time he is in London; he is happy to put Allen's work at Maw's service for as long as required.
