Scope and Content

The collection contains telegrams sent by Perris to the Daily Chronicle and typescripts of articles, written by George Perris, concerning the war in France 1914-1918.

Administrative / Biographical History

George Herbert Perris was born in Liverpool in 1866. He began a career in journalism in 1883. He held various posts in provincial and national newspapers. During the First World War he was war correspondent for the Daily Chronicle in France. He also published many works on foreign policy and military history. He died 23 December 1920.

Access to the items in the collection is unrestricted for the purpose of private study and personal research within the controlled environment and restrictions of the Library's Palaeography Room
