From Nancy Fisher (Joseph's first wife) to her husband Joseph, describing their journey to Matlock with their son William. She comments that 'we all bear Riding in the chaise very well ' She describes the rooms they have taken saying 'we have 3 Rooms two bedrooms and one sitting Room which is all very comfortable and very nicely situated not above 50 yards from the Bath we have a easy chair and everything we could wish for. Each room being five shillings' It appears that they have gone to take the waters possibly because the son William is unable to walk. She writes ' I cannot send you any word how the Waters will answer for us at present But we have begun drinking the Waters and they have agreed with us very well'
