Scope and Content

from Edmund Bishop of Chester to Robert Booth, patron of Holy Trinity Chapel, Rev Richard Asheton, minister of Holy Trinity, and others, to rebuild and enlarge the chapel and to dispose of pews and seats to "owners of houses and lands and inhabitants within the Chapelry of Salford and town and parish of Manchester" who will contribute a sum of money towards the cost of rebuilding. When the Commission is executed, Robert Booth and others must return to the Vicar General [Samuel Peploe] or another "competent judge" a "Certificate of the Execution thereof", with "a map or chart of the pews and seats built and galleries and names of the persons to whom they shall be appropriated and disposed of".
