Administrative / Biographical History

The Association of Teachers in Technical Institutions was founded in 1904. In 1976 it amalgamated with the Association of Teachers in Colleges and Departments of Education to form the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education.

The first deposit of the records of the Association of Teachers in Technical Institutions was made in 1978 by the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education.

2nd February 1978 : 27 boxes of ATTI records collected by Mrs C. Woodland [indefinite loan]; 15th March 1979 : Emmott Committee volume received by post from NATFHE [indefinite loan]; 8th March 1983 : 9 transfer cases, unaccompanied van collection [indefinite loan]; 25th March 1985 : 1 box of minutes, unaccompanied van collection [indefinite loan]. March 2004 : Journal transferred from University library.
