Cassette with typed, annotated transcripts for each side. Subjects covered include:

Side one: an introduction by Ada Wright; Janet Dann's childhood with her brothers; the development of her religious commitment; first aid training during the First World War and a visit from Queen Mary; the death of her parents during the bombing of 1915; her own injuries and shock.

Side two: life at her Uncle's during the war; returning to London to live with her grandmother; her grandmother's background; working on the census at Somerset House; rejection for missionary work becasue of her age; nursing training; a holiday to Devonshire and her engagement; coming to terms with her parents' deaths.
