Scope and Content

Printed published volume of poetry and part of the poem 'The Martyrdom of Bishop Farrar' taken from 'The Pocket Book of Modern Verse'. An edition of English Poetry Now Critical Quarterly Poetry Supplement number 3, which contains two Hughes poems 'The Road to Easington' and 'Six Young Men'; and a pamphlet of 'The Hawk in the Rain' printed for 'private distribution' in autumn 1997 to celebrate forty years since the publication of the poetry collection (marked '48/101' with signature of Hughes) are also included.
